Fitted Adult Cloth Diapers

Fitted adult cloth diapers take the classic hourglass shape and as the name suggests they are better fitting than the prefold style. They are the cloth versions of the usual disposable diapers that we often see babies wear in TV commercials. They fit snugly to the body and they look less bulky so they are the preferred style of active diapers users.

The fabrics that are used are mostly terry cotton and flannel. Most fitted diapers have extra layers in the middle for liquid absorption. These are called soaker pads. There are some fitted diapers where extra layers of soaker pads are sewn and there are some where they make pockets so you can put your own soaker pads.

For locking, they use either Velcro snap closures, buttons or diaper pins. But Velcro is what most manufacturers use because it provides adjustment in the waist. So even if the diaper users put on some weight or lose some, they don’t have to buy diapers in different sizes. They can just adjust the Velcro snap. An added benefit of the Velcro snap is the ease in removing them.

Because of the hourglass shape, they also always come with elastic legs which help avoid leakage. But since they are made of cloth, even if the urine stays in the diaper and doesn’t leak, they are not water-proof. You need to buy a water-proof diaper cover such as PUL if you are using the fitted diaper underneath clothes. You can re-use these diaper covers.

If you want a breathable, comfortable, less bulky and more skin-friendly cloth diaper, fitted adult cloth diaper is a good choice. They do not move under your clothes and they feature elastic leggings that keep away the leakage from your inner thighs. Although you have to use outer diaper covers, you can re-use them which make them still more affordable than disposable diapers.
